FICFUSA Opens Call for Entries for Its 2026

Edition 13th Fusagasugá International Film Festival

FICFUSA officially opens the call for entries for its 13th edition, inviting audiovisual creators from Colombia and around the world to submit their works in the festival’s different competitive categories.

With thirteen years of history, FICFUSA has established itself as a film festival and community-based cultural process that, through its Women and Territory approach, understands cinema as a space for encounter, creation, reflection, and social transformation.

From Fusagasugá, in the Sumapaz region, the festival works toward cultural decentralization, access to cinema as a right, and the strengthening of the social fabric through audiovisual practices.

This year, we are renewing our competitive categories. Two new sections are launched: Made by Colombians and A Story Made Region. One aims to showcase and promote films made by women in Colombia, recognizing the diversity of perspectives, languages, and creative practices that emerge from both intimate and collective experiences; the other travels across the country’s regions, weaving narratives that expand the map of Colombian cinema from a local perspective.

Four Competitive Categories

  • Women´s facts: National and International Feature Films
  • Made by Colombians: Short Films Directed by Colombian Women
  • A Short fact: Short Films from Cundinamarca
  • A Story Made Region: Short Films from Colombian Regions

Awards and Incentives for Audiovisual Creation

The winning works in each category will receive the Official FICFUSA 2026 Laurel, the Orchid of the Andes Award, and recognition from the jury.

In addition, thanks to the support of HD Cinema Colombia, the festival will award COP $30,000,000 in film equipment rental prizes, distributed as follows:

  • Best Short Film – Made by Colombians: COP $10,000,000
  • Best Short Film A Short fact: COP $10,000,000
  • Best Short Film –  A Story Made Region: : COP $10,000,000

These incentives seek to encourage the development of new audiovisual productions in the country.

Call for Entries Open Until August

The call for entries will remain open from March 8 to August 8, 2026. Selected works will become part of the festival’s official program, which will take place from November 11 to 16, 2026, in Fusagasugá, Cundinamarca, Colombia.

FICFUSA continues to strengthen its role as a space where cinema engages with territories, communities, and new ways of telling the stories of the country, fostering access to film and encounters between creators and diverse audiences.
